Mission Ministry

At West Hills we are committed to "partnership" in mission. Jesus' command to "Go into all the world" includes the USA as much as it includes Africa, Asia or the Middle East. Mission does not begin here nor does it end with people being like us!

We believe three truths in these mission partnerships:

1.  Omaha is at the staple in the atlas map of the USA - therefore we have a long way to go to get to the edge of faith. So we have targeted partnerships on many continents and in other cultures. We take short-term mission trips to visit them, and we return home to serve Jesus as much here as we did on the trip.

2.  You don't have to fix the world; you only have to be born in Bethlehem. In our partnerships, wherever they are in the world, we seek a simple humble place to serve and give ourselves to God's work. Again, we return home to do the same!

3.  Most often it is we who learn the most. Our partners have much to teach us about worship, the presence of God and how to be faithful to Him in our journey. We try to bring our partners here as much as we go there.

Short-term Mission Trips

We use short-term mission trips to build these relationships with each other and our partners in the field. The heart-changing experiences felt by participants on short-term trips help us reflect on our own journey, the spiritual gifts God gives us, and how we can best use them in our own church or community at home. "Each person is given something to do that shows who God is..." 1 Corinthians 12:7 (The Message)
