Caregiving Ministries

The purpose of Caregiving Ministries at West Hills is to meet the needs of our members and friends through one or more of our ministry areas.  Each of our Caregiving Ministries provides:

·         A ministry of presence

·         A ministry of listening

·         A ministry that is unashamedly Christ-centered

Caregiving Ambassadors

Members and their families not associated with a covenant group are placed under the care of our Caregiving Ambassadors.  Each of our Caregiving Ambassadors provides care for approximately 10-15 families.  Caregiving Ambassadors maintain a relationship with the families and individuals under their care through phone contacts, one-on-one visitation, hospital visitation and through special events such as the annual spring luncheon and special fellowship gatherings.

Covenant Groups

All of our members are encouraged to participate in some kind of covenant group experience offered through West Hills Church.  Covenant groups are a place where we experience the church in miniature and where we become ministers to one another.  Each group is made up of 6-12 individuals who covenant to meet regularly, share their lives, joys and concerns in a confidential manner.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are trained lay people who provide Christian one-to-one care for those experiencing difficult life circumstances.  Our Stephen Ministers provide an important ministry in our weekly worship services availing themselves to those who might want to participate in a time of sharing and/or prayer.  Stephen Ministers can be linked, on a confidential basis, to those in the midst of transitions or times of crises, such as divorce, death and grief, the loss or change of employment, or a variety of other personal or spiritual difficulties.

Do you care about others? Do you desire to pass on to others the love God has shown you, and the gifts
he's given you? You can learn skills to do this through Stephen Ministry training. We plan to begin a training class this fall (2009). If you are interested or have questions, please call one of these people:
Carole Burrows (895-9066), Sherry Heldt (932-4507) or Sherry Reese (333-0807).
