West Hills Church

giving ourselves in God's mission

“The word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood.” John 1:14 (MSG)

At West Hills we’re the Church in the neighborhood, for the neighborhood! We love being a part of the Westgate community and every week you can find someone from West Hills serving in our neighborhood. Contact Caitlin O'Hare (below) for more information.

Here are a few of the ways you can serve in our neighborhood:

Westgate Elementary School

  • Classroom, copy room, or library volunteer (one hour, once a week)
  • Add your name to the West Hills Westgate volunteer email list to help with meals for the staff during parent/teacher conferences; back-to-school, Christmas, and end-of-the-year gifts; and other as-needed volunteer opportunities
  • Become a Teammates mentor for a child from Westgate school

Westgate Neighborhood

  • Help Westgate neighbors who are elderly or disabled with outdoor seasonal chores (raking, cleaning gutters, trimming bushes, etc.) during our twice yearly Servant Sunday event happening the first Sunday in May and the last Sunday in October every year.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30 (NIV)

Caitlin grew up at West Hills and has served in many capacities, including in our music ministry, the nursery and as a youth intern. She is most passionate about her current role in mission, as she fosters West Hills' relationship with Westgate Elementary School, and our other local and worldwide partnerships. She encourages everyone at West Hills to see their entire lives as an offering to God and begin to see how God has perfectly placed them to be used in mission right where they are, in their jobs, their families and with their friends.
