As many of you know, I am a huge fan of fishing!  I absolutely love it.  Getting outside in the fresh air and going out to a lake and throwing a line in the water, there’s nothing better!  I relate to the disciples Andrew, Peter, James and John because they were also fishermen.  Jesus told Peter and Andrew to follow Him and He would make them “fishers of men.” 

I’m not sure what I would think if someone told me this while I was out fishing.  But Jesus’ goal was to teach them how to capture the hearts, minds, and soul of others to teach them about the kingdom of God.  Jesus wanted His disciples to preach that salvation has come from Jesus Christ the messiah! 

As much as I love fishing for fish, I am called by God to be first and foremost a fisher of men.  I am called to inspire others to turn from wicked ways and to turn and see the beauty and light of Jesus Christ.  Today, lets pray that God will guide us to more people that we can share the gospel with.
